This position is based out of Fulcrum headquarters - located across from Bryant Park in NYC. Travel to our office in Norwalk, CT may be required.

Role and Responsibilities

The Desktop support engineer plays a vital role in keeping Fulcrum running like a well-oiled machine. The desktop support engineer’s primary focus will be on ensuring enterprise and client systems are running and maintained.


Primary responsibilities include:

Participating in building, rebuilding, and maintaining Windows desktops.

Providing support to internal users on Enterprise technologies.

Ensuring desktops and servers are at the proper OS and patch levels.

Troubleshooting desktop and network issues.

Documenting fixes and implementations for technical and business audiences.



BS/BA – recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.

Working knowledge of Windows 7 & 10, including Office 365.

Foundational knowledge of networking concepts. TCP/IP, VPN, WiFi.

Proficiency in Gmail, including Calendaring and Google Drive.

Ability to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment that includes an Agile Kanban approach.

Some exposure to Linux: Ubuntu and/or Red Hat derivatives.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to summarize and present complex information in clear terms to technical and non-technical audiences.

Must be willing to be on-call nights and weekends a week at a time, on a rotating basis.


Nice to haves

Working knowledge of Linux, including Samba and LDAP.

Working knowledge of networks: firewalls and switches, Cisco, Fortigate. SDN is a huge plus.

Knowledge of centralized anti-virus platforms.

Ability to script in Powershell, Bash, Python.

Desire to learn technologies such as Ansible, Openstack, Mesosphere, Kafka and others.
